Maurice forms another K-Team to get the Musa Family back to Nigeria

Maurice J Kirk BVSc has enough to do with his own legal battles. But he also feels very committed to helping others by sharing the insights he gained from his experiences.

Last Monday, the Musas had nobody to accompany them into court, after a very good statement had been produced by great helpers.

But what he had to discover was horrendous:

• while they were waiting all day long in the court building, an “Interim Care Order” (ICO) was renewed over the phone, which is, of course, perfectly illegal.

On Thursday, it got worse:

• he ended up being imprisoned for false claims made by the Children’s Solicitor and Haringey Council’s barrister:

1. for recording proceedings which he didn’t do
2. for “misrepresenting his identity” when the Barrister who knew the right person didn’t correct the judge who assumed he was another McKenzie Friend.

And on Friday, we visited the offices of Powell Spencer & Partners, for solicitor Mike Tait had not released documents, even though he had cancelled their legal aid certificate.

Maurice was so insistent that the police officer, whom he eventually called off the street, had to manhandle him to get him out.

But, with success:

• the nice Solicitor Jamie Bird didn’t think that what we were suspecting could possibly go on in his practice: falsifying / doctoring / manipulating evidential documents
• he did his utmost to hand over a small pile and to promise all further wanted documents by Monday
• thanks to the aid of the Police Officer, they received one of the documents they came for – but only after nearly six hours until 8.50pm!…

Powell Spencer & Partners would not quite qualify to be listed on Solicitors from Hell, for they are using a paralegal to do the dirty work – thus no risk of losing the licence!
